The problem has been solved.

The culprit was corrosion on the CEE (male) and NEMA (shemale) connectors on the landshore cable.

Cable and connectors are produced by Marinco and configured for 220V/50Hz.

Replaced both connectors

Bye the way, those connectors are probably the single biggest cause of fires on boats. Once they corrode there is not much you can do except replace them, as you have done. Check the plug daily to make sure it is not overheating.
