Heat resistent Solar controller

I everybody,

I would like to setup a solar trickle charger for two batteries, since it's rather sunny at my current location I need a charge regulator in any case.

Since I moved to a desert country I have a new sort of problem: during the summer months I see very often 45C or 113F and above in the shadow. Which may translate to much higher temperatures in the lookers and direct sunlight.

This summer months are usually the time y do not go out as you would get fried - that translates into a boat which is not used, and a solar charger which is in thermal shutdown...a combination which I would like to avoid. I read many specs of charge controller but all I found was units with thermal shutdown around 50C - has anyone an idea of a unit which can handle such temperatures? And since it's just a trickle charger - I may not invest hundreds of dollars....

The Plasmatronics range of regulators are designed for the Australian outback.
I have just looked up their specs and they quote performance figures up to 55C (where the 20A PL20 needs to be derated to 13A)

They are expensive though.

Maybe get a controller unit that has an auxiliary output - it could be used to run a fan - thereby cooling the controller.
