It clogged when I had the
fuel line led directly to the
Racor 120, that had a 2 micron filter in it as you have to filter to 2 micron or you will have
pump and or injector wear.
So far when pre filtered by first a 30 micron filter, then onto the 2 micron filter, the 2 micron hasn't clogged, yet.
A little interesting is I have a
Racor 120 with a 2 micron filter in it on my
outboard, that hasn't clogged, yet. Maybe gasoline is cleaner?
I theorize that a 2 micron filter is easily clogged, and to get decent life out of one, you have to remove all particles 30 micron and larger, leaving of course the 2 micron to filter only between 2 and 30 micron.
But my main filter looks as clean as it did coming out of the box, I've never had anything of any significance in the bowl, so I guess there is significant contaminants that are too small to be seen, or to fall out of suspension?
