fourwinds wind generator removal

It came with the boat and lately has been making noise. Bearings I think.

I have no manual and would like to remove it. Other than the fact that I need a 6 foot ladder to reach it, how do I go about this? There are 2 bolts that go through the aluminum pole that are roughly 5" apart, and 3 Phillips head screws at the turning base. Is it that simple or am I overthinking it?

Calls to mfgr are listed as a number no longer in service.

Take bottom screws out and assembly should lift off of pole if nothing seized. Photo is of pole after removal. The plastic bushing you removed the screws from remains on pole. Not visible in photo.

Re: fourwinds wind generator removal

Hey there Capt Doug. I need some help here. I have a Fourwinds II and I can't find my manual. I recently unhooked a bunch of wires from the monitor and diverter panel trying to track down what I thought was a stray current leak. Never found a leak, but the wires were unmarked and now I can't hook it back up as some time elapsed between. Can you help me by somehow posting or sending me a page out of the manual that shows the schematic for wiring that includes the mercury diverter solenoids?

Do you still have this manual? I'd love a copy.
