Hey guys I'm going through my electrics 'who's who' kinda thing. In my starboard engine
bay is a box with some electronics
in (all in French so I assume originally FP). I am trying to figure out what it does exactly. It is connected to both alternator
signals and engine
hour counters (easy). It has some more cables
disappearing into the bowels of the Bahia
and two control wires are connected to a huge relay (judging by the size is say 300A to 500A!!) the power side of this relay is connected in line between house battery
, isolation switch and boat itself, just after the isolation switch and boat. Does that make sense?
Anybody knows what the point of that box is (apart from counting engine hours)?
