Electrical Problem: Xantrex

As I write this the Xantrex freedom marine 10 makes this click sound and the charge/gel 1 light is flashing on and off.
about 40 minutes ago for no reason with shore power on the xantrex started making a loud clacking sound and the ac volts meter jerking back and forth from 105 to 125 volts. With the shore power plugged in and the ac main breaker off, the meter read steady 60 volts, switched on it ready 120,

right now all breakers are in the off position and the xantrex keeps blinking away with rythmic click.

any suggestion are appreciated.

so after yesterdays panic post, remebered how to use the off switch on xantrex.

this chord junction got a good burn in it as you can see from the pics. it was a dry day and we were out on deck working when this happened. This hook up was untouch all winter through sleet rain and snow. Any one think this may be a surge. Again only getting 60 volts at the ac meter onboard.
