Diesel Generator Rebuild in SCal Recommendations?

We are in the planning stages to pull out our 8KW kubota diesel genset and would like to take it to a facility in Southern California to drop it off and have it rebuilt and major service work done to the generator and motor.

Any recommendations of competent shops would be appreciated. As big a job as this is, you just hate to pick someone out of the phone book and toss several thousand dollars there way without some type of recommendation at least!

What needs a re-build? You take it to an electrical motor shop and they know about the the electrical part but then not about the engine part and vice versa. I would never want an electrical shop to also be an engine ovhl shop. If your choice sends the engine to another shop for ovhl and works over the electrical part in house then puts it all back together and tests it, that would sound more professional.
