DC Genset?

If you have experience with a DC genset, then we'd appreciate hearing about it. Is it a viable alternative to an AC unit?

Thanks,
Jon

Re: DC Genset?

I had 2 x 25kw DC GlacierBay gensets on my last boat. Those are no longer available but there are several companies that offer DC gensets in a range of sizes.

They are certainly a viable alternative to AC but I wouldn't recommend them as a simple replace for an AC, rather you need to reconsider your total electrical system.
