Charles 5000 SP series 60 amp charger ....

I have the above charger on my sailboat charging a 400 amp hour house bank and 100 amp hour starting battery. When starting to charge my house bank the gauge shows 60 amp charging in Xantrax battery monitor shows about 24 amps being provided which drops as the batteries gain in charge state.

Does this sound normal? My alternator (110 amp Balmar) will indicate at about 45 amps on the battery monitor when it is the charging source.

Thanks in advance...Ed
