Or really any other lead acid construction, like AGM or gel. The point is that with that chemistry, once the voltage starts to materially rise, the acceptance rate drops off a cliff so even if a charger drops out (which doesn't happen if the bulk voltages are all the same), it doesn't matter. With LFP (Lithium iron phosphate), you might see one charger get out of sync with other charge sources, but again it doesn't matter because when that happens the battery is very nearly as full as it's going to get in any case.

There ya go, a CF special column called "Ask Gord" insight, guidance, advice & wisdom in many matters related to waterborne activities. Over to you Gord.
PS: My last comment for this, so not to derail the thread.

Re: Charging with multiple battery chargers

Lots of good logic out there but...
I have 2 pronautic 50 A smart chargers just for rainy day backup. I decided on two battery chargers for redundancy. My 2-360 w sunpower PV panels keep my 800ah agm above 90% all of the time.
The two chargers in parallel play fine together.
One can speculate all day, but there’s nothing like hands on experience.

I know you have all the info you need, but just one more vote for multiple smart charging sources having no problems working together.

I have three smart charge sources working in parallel and it’s all fine. All are set to the same battery chemistry and voltage set points but the end result is they all do bulk charging together then as absorption is reached two will drop out early and leave it to the third controller to finish the job. 90% of the time it is the same controller that ends up doing the absorption and float stages but for some odd reason the other 10% of the time is is one of the other controllers. Go figure.

My batteries are VERY happy.
