Charger system

I have bought new batteries, gel for consumption and agm for start/anchorwinch. My charger is a Tystor 1218, and my batteriseperator is dead. Is the Tystor suited for gel/agm? If not, what would you recoment? And which seperator?

You really should have bought all the same. It will be hard to charge them both properlly.

I use a pro-nautics 60amp charger, I too have different types of batteries in different banks. The pro-nautics charges 3 banks simultaneously and keeps them all topped up nicely. I use the generator to run the pro-nautics... does it nicely also.

Coxswain, sounds nice! So the charger also controls the output from your generator?

Yes, if the batteries need it, it pumps in the 60 amps, then it scales down and usually sits at about 30 amps and puts it into the banks that need it. I run the genie for an hour in the morning and n hour at night, the solar supplements the rest.

I got a recon one off a guy on eBay, chargers guy I think his name was.. It is fantastic.
