hello all, jiji (c37) set out from
hong kong and arrived in Naha via Kaohsiung,
Taiwan, a day ahead of this year's first typhoon Aere... that was a bit of good luck. and am I glad that local Japanese cruising sailors at the ginowan marina that I am staying all seem to know the brand of
pacific seacraft very well!
need
advice: my x-gen
wind generator had a three-way BEF
marine 20-amp switch. from top to bottom, three wires are connected to it: red, black, red. the contacts were caked enough that the top wire broke off, and when we tried to take it out the contents inside the switch box jumped out and the thing is no longer serviceable. we would like to connect the windgenerator permanently, at least till we arr at our trip
destination, 1100 nm away. but we don't want to mis-connect the wires and short the whole system (possible?) and my electricity skills are very limited. I suspect to connect the windgenerator wires so it is always on, I should connect the top red to the bottom red, keeping clear of the black. is that right?
your quick reply is appreciated, as we are resuming trip tomorrow morning at crack of dawn. thanks!
