BLOCKING DIODES FOR KYOCERA KC80 PANELS

Need to know from someone who knows for certain, and has done this.
Friend installed new Rutland 914 with HRDi controller, and 2- KC80 Kyocera in parallel. HRD says blockers must be installed, Kyocera says their construction types minimizes backflow to acceptable levels. Diodes, or not ?

Thanks in advance.

Re: BLOCKING DIODES FOR KYOCERA KC80 PANELS

The loss at night is low in these panels.
The loss from a blocking diode is generally a bit greater than the the reduction in night time loss even with a non MPPT regulator. It is however, quite close so its not too critical either way.

Thanks Noelex, my thoughts are similar. A big battery bank, and almost continuous input from the Rutland, I figured would be adequate.
