Regular solar panels that we would use for sailing boats, are made from an Aluminum frame, Plastic backing. Glass sheet. And the cells are made from Aluminum. Titanium. Copper. Tungsten in the case of the best ones. Arsenic. Boron. Phosphorous. And lots of Silicon. Mainly silicon.
Zero rare earths. And the As used is only a tiny trace. Just like any micro-chip.
Plus the plastic enclosure and 3x by pass diodes, to provide for better shade performance. Also made form Silicon, As, B, P, - plastic + Cu PCB, Al contacts. Plastic wire insulation...

The energy created far outweighs the cost within about 3 days.

Best panels are Sun Power. They all come with by pass diodes in the plastic pod on the back. Always use an MPPT box and then straight to the batts.
