Prices just keep coming down...

I just bought four 400AH 3.2v cells for "wholesale" at $400 ea and they are selling what looks like a simular cell or $440 retail, so I like to see the pricing falling as more and more players enter the market.

If I understand though, this is a turn key, simple drop in LifePo bank complete with BMS etc. Replace your LA bank with this, adjust your charger voltages and enjoy.

Did you make a mistake on the pricing ? You said that you paid $400 wholesale but their retail is $440. The web site shows a price of $540 (an extra $100 per cell).
Did the price drop and the page isn't updated, did they make a mistake selling it too cheap to you or did you mis-type?
Oh .... is there a secret password to get the $440 price or hey, maybe even the $400 price ???

Just compared Balqon and Sinopoly - Balqon are rated at 2000 cycles and Sinopoly cells are rated at more than 1500 cycles. I wonder if it is a case of one manufacturer being optimistic and another covering their butt or if there is a real life difference in the cells. That is 25% life difference which is significant.

Check my math please. To get to 15KW you you need about 11 or 12 of the T-105's?

15000w / 12v = 1250

1250 / 220 (golf cart ah) = 5.7 @ 6v

5.7 * 2 (to create series for 12v) = 11.4 golf cart batteries
(approx 12 batteries)

However, this measurement isn't exactly meaningful, it isn't apples to apples since the lithium batteries have different charge/discharge properties. I've most often heard that you can do with a lithium bank roughly half the size of a lead acid bank.

They claim 3000 cycles to 70% DOD

And this appears to be warrantied for five years (pro-rated). Since the BMS is part of the pack, it would be hard to claim that you mistreated the battery as reason to deny the warranty.

So they must be pretty confident that this life is conservative

That is my understanding, so the 9KW pack for $3,300 gives you considerably more useable power than a dozen golf cart batteries.
Unless I'm missing something here we pretty much have that turn key, install and forget battery pack that is essentially zero maintenance and will supply enormous amounts of current?
