Auto Gen Start, ECT

does anyone own one of these?
Inverter Charger | Freedom SW Inverter/Charger | Xantrex
the boat i am most likely going to own has no inverter.
has a small, 3KW generator, and twin AC.
i will size up the house bank with these:
Power Patrol SLA1185 - 12V 100AH Replacement Battery - $192
perhaps getting 8 of them.
800AH at 12 volts.

then adding this:
Power Accessories | Automatic Generator Start | Xantrex

6000KW RMS will be ample to start and run two A/C units, the inverter alone has a 6000W surge, and it combines with the generator.

9KW of battery power should also allow me to run one AC, 10 amps, 1200 watts for about 4-5 safe hours without starting the generator. and during the day my array of solar panels, will keep me from using much fuel. seems smarter to use a dual power setup.
or am i completely wrong here and i should just run the gen constantly...?

get a magnum inverter. they have a gen start box as well. they also have a battery monitor add on if you don't already have a battery monitor.

the newer xantrax stuff is garbage.

i guess i need to ask, will any battery monitor work without an inverter interface? i will be leaving the anchor lights on for an extended period, and it would be nice if the gen would recharge the batteries when they hit 80%.

Re: Auto Gen Start, ECT

so i looked at the magnums. my only issue is they do not say anything about power boost.
as in working with my 3000 watt generator, to give me 6100 watts. it looks like it just shuts off when the gen starts. anyone know a lot about these?

Re: Auto Gen Start, ECT

they have the new hybrid ones that do. But I haven't used those yet.

MSH-M Series Inverter/Chargers

but I've put in probably 30 of the reg ones with no issues. (some of those replacing dead xantrax ones)
