Are Galvanic Isolators Voltage Specific ?

Hi all
I am looking at putting a galvanic isolator on my steel ketch. Are they voltage specific(110 or 240v)? By this I mean can I buy one off eBay from USA? I am based in Australia.

No, galvanic isolators are not voltage specific.

But they are current specific; i.e., 30A service, 50A service, 100A service, etc.

No, they are connected in the ground lead and don't care what is in the other shore power cables.

As Charlie pointed out, they must be rated at the shore power breaker rating or higher, however it is possible to run a dual 30 amp shore power through a 50 amp isolator. You can see a schematic on how to do it on page two of the owner's manual at http://www.yandina.com/acrobats/GalvOwnManual.pdf

On a steel boat you really should have an isolation transformer, rather than a galvanic isolator.
