This is helpful. I'm planning on keeping the present alternator, so I'll keep the present alternator grounding set up until I decide to upgrade or it fails. I now understand the alternator wiring much better thanks to this thread.
Don't worry about the hose clamps. I had to remove my
water pump to replace the
seals and had a problem with a restricted seacock that I'm also addressing. I have until March 24 to get everything in shape.
I was given 1980
Pearson 30 a year ago. Focused on getting the engine running last
winter prior to a great summer of sailing and now have this present
charging project,
rudder bushing
repairs,
