Alternator shutting off
Alternator
shutting off.
The belt had come loose and I adjusted and tightened it. Now its not working.
After I start the
diesel
, the
alternator
runs fine for about 15 seconds and then
current
goes to zero.
I stop the
engine
and restart and it does the same, shuts off in about 15 seconds.
Any thoughts?

Re: Alternator shutting off
Diode pack is what I would look at first. Is a new pack available for your Alt?

Re: Alternator shutting off
Thanks for the reply.
Probably not. Its a Valleo 24v
my experience with diodes is they
work
or they don't. Strange that it would repeatedly
work
then shut off.

Iffy connection on the pack / alt circuit breaking down under load is my suspicion.
