Re: Alternative / Innovative Out of the box energy storage?

Here's a smaller predecessor to the current version that came out of a 2012 Leaf for $2,600. If I'm doing the math right this works out to about 1000 Amp Hours at 12V and it only weight 210 pounds. How would one go about making this useful in a 12V system?

LITHIUM BATTERY PACK

58 Ah rated 182V nominal (201.6 Max voltage)

Rated 12kWh, usable 10-11kWh (144V-201V)

Contain 24 modules - 7.6V/58Ah each

Made in Japan from Nissan for LEAF EV CAR

Maximum voltage 4.2V per cell / 8.4V per battery
Average voltage per cell 3.8V
90% of the capacity voltage - 4.2-3.7V

The battery modules are from a 2012 car with low mileage. Tested and guaranteed.

The shipping will be calculated in addition

Shipping - Freight on a pallet - to continental USA - $150-$280 - please contact us before ordering. We will request a specific quote for your order.

Battery block size:

32" long - without the side brackets, 35.5" with the side brackets (they could be removed)
13 wide with the harness, 14.5" with the brackets
9" height

Weight 95kg - 210lb

Shipping weight 115kg - 255lb

What about a freezer with two thermostats. The first ensures the freezer stays below some upper limit. The other driven by excess energy, drives the freezer down as cold as possible. That way when the exess energy goes away it's a long time before the freezer kicks back on.
That's an off grid solar trick :-) Putting fridge thermostat on freezer and using as fridge is another, Better efficiency,
