Re: Air Conditioning for Med Cruise?

We've spent many, many years in the Med and do not have a/c, although the exceptionally hot summer of 2015 caused us to investigate the cost (& decided it wasn't warranted). The months you've chosen are good ones. Later July & all of August can be brutally hot, but not humid. The wx has mostly settled by late May, and the hoards don't hit until July, with August being the worst.

One big question is whether you'll be at anchor most of the time, or spending a lot of time in marinas. At anchor, I really can't see the need for a/c. In marinas, you may want it. A good bimini or sun awning is essential though.

Insects are not a major issue but there are nocturnal mosquitos which can be a pain--have bug screens for all hatches.

Electrical items tend to be much more expensive in Europe so if you are considering adding equipment, you may wish to look in the US. Of course, then the challenge would be finding 220.
