Air Breeze Wind Gen

Bought and installed a new Air Breeze. Very satisfied except for a clicking sound that occurs at the lower wind speeds. It sounds like it is coming from the cap that covers the fins. Nothing looks to be touching on the housing. The cap seems to be able to jiggle slightly when you are touching it. Any suggestions on how to secure it or has anyone had a similar experience. Thanks

You mention that you're very satisfied with your Air Breeze. Do you know what kind of current your getting out of it?

Re: Air Breeze Wind Gen

We are in Grenada and the winds are constant. I regularly generating 10 AMPs. I have at the moment a 0 to 50 amp meter so it is hard to see. I believe I need a 0 to 25 amp meter to be able to see easier. We had trouble with our batteries so purchased this and now constantly have 12.5 to 13.5 V on the batteries. Live on the boat over the weekends and make extended trips. I like the Air Breeze due to the internal regulator. Looked at the D-400, but for $2000 and no internal regulator, went with the Air Breeze.

Out this week end and put three pieces of duck tape on the inside of the cone. All is good.

Life is sooooooo good when you can get a permanent fix out of a tiny bit of duct tape.

Or duck tape, I suppose.

Re: Air Breeze Wind Gen

My air x has been running every day for almost 2.5 years. Runs anchor light, stereo cd, DVD player, all lights, pressure water, inverter, bean grinder. 6 batts, 510 ah, windy anchorage. yea its a bit noisey, but thats life. was sorta cheap too. $700, built my own pole. I'v thought about getting another when I get reefer, but im going AC coldplate instead.

My Air-X on a prior boat made noise too. Kind of a nervousness vibration. I won't have another.

Regularly see 10s mostly 5s and occasionally 15Amps. Disappointed with the unit if there is no wind as it wont work 0 Amps. I cant fault the unit and for the price, it can't be beat for Amps/$.
