That argument can go the other way. You alternator and solar can also make 120V power (inverter). Your generator makes 120V power.. What was the questions again?

Its not that simple at all. If it was, there would be pages and pages of threads on this exact question.

Small DC units are awesome and an excellent choice for a small or midsize boat.

AC units are awesome and an excellent choice for midsize and big boats.

Bacteria and viruses cannot pass through a semi-permeable membrane; they are much larger than sodium and chloride ions.

Bacteria, OK, but a virus is awful small isn't it?
