Adding Shore Power

How difficult is it to add shore power ? My boat has the shore power plug already but no shore power...only a 12V system. I would like to be able to plug in when at the marina to charge my batteries and maybe have a few outlets to plug in a tv or a/c unit.

Is the shore power plug connected to anything? Like a breaker box? Or a charging system?

Wiring a system for 110 is not difficult. But I would be curious about a shore power plug that is not connected to anything.
