Hi, just a quick question thats probbaly been answered 100 times before. We are now in
St Martin with our 220V
boat and would like to charge the
batteries from the 110V
shore power. Our
shore power chargers are 2 cristec CPS30Em 40A. From the manual:
All CPS3
battery chargers can operate automatically and equally on
single phase networks from 85 to
265VCA and from 47 to 65Hz.
On board we have a switch which was installed with the
inverter that selects Shore/off/inverter.
I would like to be able to bring the
batteries up to full charge and possibly also heat the hot
water, but thats not critical.
Is it just a matter of making an adapter
plug for my existing shorepower cord to charge the batteries, and leave the switch in the
inverter position so the sockets run at 220V via the inverter?
Im not sure how the fridges are wired, are they usually 12V or would they be 220V when plugged in and possibly damaged by connecting 110V?
Any
advice appreciated.
Cheers
Monte
