100MW Lithium Ion Battery

Massive Tesla battery should reduce power prices but won't prevent crippling SA blackouts, say experts

This article concerns the state of South Australia trying to take some vulnerability out of their power grid. The state currently generates approx 50% of it's power needs through renewables (solar/wind) with its base load supplied from coal over very long transmission lines.

Elon Musk from Tesla has said he can supply the new battery in 100 days or it's free.

This new setup will be 3 times larger than any existing system.

This is just a heads up for those who may be interested in where lithium is headed.
