Which batten tensioners on a new sail?

Looking to replace my sails I decided to go with a six square batten radial main. I ordered it with threaded type batten tensioners only to see the finished product with fold over , velcro flapped. tie down batten tensioners. " Our vendors didn't have threaded tensioners big enough for your size battens" was the excuse and I realize many big boat sails use velcro tensioner pockets.
Anyone know of a vendor with larger batten adjusters? Anyone have an opinion on the pro's and cons of the velcro holders with a rope tensioner?
