Water tank level gauges offline

I returned to my boat after six months and the entire panel (Voltage levels, water levels, fuel levels) was off-line. I traced it to a blown fuse and replaced the fuse which brought back voltages and fuel levels but both water tanks are still off-line. There were two other blowing fuses as well, but the boat was on the hard and not connected to power. Too much damage for coincidence and not enough for a lightning strike. Would just like to get the water tank levels back online.

Mine is an early 450 (hull number two) and I think the panels have changed maybe more than once but if anyone has any experience with this would love to hear from you. Thanks in advance!

Re: Water tank level gauges offline

Our 2011 450 - water gauge stopped functioning 3 years ago when I disconnected the house bank to do some battery testing. Water gauges have never worked properly since, but fuel and volts do. I installed a separate water gauge (SCAD)

Re: Water tank level gauges offline

What water gauge did you use ? Any links ?

My water gauges are now on the blink since battery maintenance, They suddenly started showing 4 Tanks, instead of the usual 2 tanks, and always full !.

Any tips to fix or replace appreciated.

I've been wondering if the Victron Tank-Senders are compatible, anyone know ? Then I'd get water on the GX display instead.

Regards

Mark.

We use this https://www.scadtech.com/tank_monitors We use the stick on level sensor which is easy to install, but it will accept internal sending units as well.

Re: Water tank level gauges offline

Thanks, will take a look.

Any photos / suggestions of best place to install the sender ? (i.e. which one of the two underfloor tanks, any particular side is better).

Also, have you tried these on the waste tanks ?

Regards

Mark
