Water tank guages

Turned off the power at the batteries, and when switched on again the water guage showed empty on one tank only. Tried various plug in and outs on both tanks , monitor still only recognises one or other of the 2 tanks and always empty, both are full. This is the Volt Water Fuel VDO digital display by Continental. Is there some reset method for this, fuel gauges read same as before.
