Seized steering pins L440

My 2006 L440 has been moored in the Shelter Bay Marina near Colon in Panama since very late Dec 2016. In that time, the engines have been run, but the helm has not been turned. Unfortunately in the last week, , I am advised by the caretaker both steering pins linking the hydraulic and cable steering to the long rudder head interconnecting arm are now completely seized and will have to be replaced. I am hoping a fellow Lagoon owner can let me know the dimensions, drawing numbers, reference manuals, parts listing or other information I desperately need to either order new pins from Lagoon, or to have pins machine locally. Panama is really difficult to get anything so maybe to order new is my only option. Hoping I can get some help out there guys!

I would look into replacements being manufactured locally or the originals being cleaned and repaired.

The L440 ceased production 7 years ago and a total of only just over 400 where made, so not likely a lot of spares parts just sitting around in a Lagoon warehouse awaiting to be purchased. The chances are the parts where just purchased in as required by Lagoon off a supplier at the time of production anyway.

Re: Seized steering pins L440

Those are indeed the pins but the ones in the photo have been modified with additional thread at the bottom to accept a lock nut. Fortunately my pins were serviceable but the units at each end of the rudder head stock connecting bar were totally seized. The bearings were quickly identified as a standard SKF part most commonly used as truck tie rod ends. I found them in stainless steel. They have a 20mm hole and a 1.5mm metric thread. I paid AU$185 per bearing for full stainless steel. Economy shipping to from Brisbane, Australia to Colon in Panama was AU$137 with a 5 day delivery time forecast. The SKF part is GIRSW20RR 20mm
