Thanks, Feebs. There doesn't appear to be a reasonably priced option for Yanmar genuine parts.

I've gone to using non-genuine filters and seals, although sometimes I've had to buy originals in order to correctly match.

Regarding the "collar set" of copper shims; I've read elsewhere that these can be substituted by generic needle thrust bearings. Apparently these needle thrust bearings are available in a wider range of thicknesses, so end play in the SD50 clutch cone could be more accurately controlled. With the (expensive) Yanmar set, I found one size too loose and the next thicker one, too tight.

You may be a fellow Lagoon owner in Oz but thats a cheap shot
but you are right my nuts look way cheaper than Dave's in NZ.

next time cones need a job, will look how to push studs back, instead of using hammer. Some sort of 4 vises tightened bit by bit. I bet upper seal will say thanks.
