Screacher

Looking at investing in a Screacher for our Lagoon 400, does any one with a 400 have one? and know what the measurements are?

Re: Screacher

Your sailmaker will calculate working from your JIPE measurement, design and purpose we are looking at one from (a) Taskers or (b) a FFR from Onesails which really looks the business.
Cheers.

Re: Screacher

Thanks for the input, I am after the measurement from the tip of the prodder to the point on the mast where the halyard for the screecher goes into the mast (Leading edge?). Then the foot, I am having one made by mail order so I would like to cross check the measurements before I order. I have looked in the manual but cannot find anything.

Re: Screacher

We are getting prices for the same, in all cases they wouldn't accept theoretical measurements as different furler/bearing/halyard connections give different dimensions.
We had to raise the bearing with 33metre tape attached and physically measure to satisfy them.
A local sailmaker came 30 miles to re-enact the exercise not wanting possibility of error.
There's nothing in the manuals that's for sure. And probably so Incidences get the order instead.......

Re: Screacher

Oh well looks like I will have to get the tape measure out as well. Please let me know which sail you end up going for. I am not in a hurry, just been given the green light to buy one, just doing the research first. Cheers

Re: Screacher

Hello Katsumi, just reading some old posts, you probably got sorted by now but if it helps this is what we had made, Luff:15.90, Leech 14.10, Foot: 8.50, has worked well, made by Sail Solutions Sydney.
Regards Peter

Re: Screacher

Hi Peter
Thank you for the information. I ended up running the tape measure after all I don't have my log book on me at the moment but it was close to 16.5 metres from the prodder to the top for the swivel. Anyway I have just had one made by local sail maker in Cairns, we are very happy with the sail, certainly gets the boat moving in lighter winds. Good to hear from you again I was always very interested in reading your posts. Hope all is well with you and you boat, we are still very happy with ours, just planning a big trip down to the Whitsundays, then Sydney for Christmas and New Year.
Regards
Nick
