450: Replace Cruisair condenser with generic part?

Some Cruisair advice please.

Our cabin's have 8000BTU Cruisair's. One of the condenser's has packed up. Being in the Maldives spare parts are impossible to obtain unless shipped in.

The AC chap here has said he can replace the condenser with a Gree brand, available locally. Can one replace with a non-Cruisair condenser, will it be a "plug and play" and could this create any problems with the unit?

Yes, I think you can replace the condenser. It's just two tubes one inside the other. As long as the tubes are the right size (diameter and length) and have the proper pressure rating for the high pressure refrigerant it should work the same as the old one.
