Order New Lagoon 42

Hi there,

Going to order the NEW 42 on the la Grande Motte Boatshow

Anyone here who is doing the same in a while? Would be nice to communicate with each other about all the minor things we don't want to discuss with the dealer or the "admiral"

Seen the boat live at the Dusseldorf show and we love it.

Nice hearing from you

We just ordered a 450 Sportop. PM me if you want to discuss what to add from the wharf.

Regards,
Anders

Re: order New Lagoon 42

Hi Sanderkemper

Just ordered a new 42 at the Miami show.

Extremely happy with the decision.

Some of my likes are:

- Self tacking headsail
- Recessed helmstation (compared with flybridge) and easy access to boom
- Cockpit design and layout
- Cabin volume, and walkaround beds
- Teak finish and transom step design
- General attention to ergonomics
- 57 Hp Yanmars

Being a first timer on the blog, I am not sure how to make offline contact with you, but would be interested in exchanging views about some of the factory options, etc.

Cheers

Hi,

We were also at the Miami show and really liked the 42. What kind of delivery date was promised?

Hi dcareri

We have hull #59, and it will hit the water in November.

It is amazing that over 60 of this brand new model have sold already.

Cheers

Nice boat.
looking at it again, maybe is within designed range. boat appears to move around wind 80 app, which means strength of wind around 16 kn app. Spi probably 120m2, so looks legit.

We have hull #20. Due in water in mid to late July. Outfitted for charter. 4 cabin +1 single version. Solar panels, gen/AC. Upgraded engines. No teak as in charter (Looks great). Cockpit fridge.
Some items will be added once in BVI.

Re: Order New Lagoon 42

Hi DeepCut

Which delivery option did you go for? We are still tossing up between a skippered delivery across the Atlantic Vs the high cost of marine freight on a container vessel. A Lagoon 450 was delivered to Texas last year on her own bottom with 500 hours on the Yanmars. Not sure how they managed to fit in so much motoring but it seems like a lot of early wear and tear on the boat before handover.

If we go for a skippered delivery on our boat in winter there may be a few storms about in the Bay of Biscay, but probably better than your situation with hurricanes brewing in the Caribbean in July.

Another question for you:

Last week, we had had a good look over the 42 (the one from Miami show, and in the video) which is now at Clear Lake, Texas. After crawling all over it, we have adjusted our thinking on some of the options selected. How much time did the factory give you before their 'drop dead' date on locking in options?

Cheers

Re: Order New Lagoon 42

We are having ours sailed to BVI , thus closer than Texas.
500 hours would be almost 21 days of motoring. That would be a significant amount of fuel as well.

Is this boat now at the dealer there? or was it delivered to a customer? I would love to take a look!
