Re: New Lagoon 50!

very nice Amberina.

can i ask your opinion on the AC please as we are installing our own this winter.
1. does a unit chilling each hull keep it cool enough in the saloon?
2. do you actually require 16,000btu per hull or could you get away with 8,000?
3. can you run a 16,000btu unit all night on inverter and what does it draw?
4. what batteries are you using and size of bank?

my thinking is it would be very nice to be able to run 1x 8000btu unit all night on batteries (occaisionally) so this is what i'd like to try and achieve. If 16,000btu is possible, maybe i'd be able to chill both hulls all night.

you actualy experience much appreciated.

Re: New Lagoon 50!

hey Dave,
at first: I love your video's, and also your contributions to this forum.

1. does a unit chilling each hull keep it cool enough in the saloon?
I have 1 vent per unit (Always open) in the saloon (directly out of the unit)

2. do you actually require 16,000btu per hull or could you get away with 8,000?
I think 8000 is more than enough, but for the price difference (in spain) this was a good decision.

3. can you run a 16,000btu unit all night on inverter and what does it draw?
until now, we only run them in harbours all night (shore power), and for the moment not on inverter....waiting for the soft start to arrive.

4. what batteries are you using and size of bank?
the standard gel types from lagoon...comfort pack wich I think is 6 x 140Ah

we leave for the boat in a week (cruising the balearics).

will take some more foto's of the setup then

Thank you so much Amberina,
I'll continue this on my 450 thread so as not to hijack this one. Apologies Alex!
