I am considering an upgrade. A new L50 was anchored next to me the other day, I don't like the
interior (from the pictures I saw) and I really don't like the look of the bows. The L52 really looks good but way to heavy. 4 days ago a
saba 50 and a L52 were motoring same direction in about 1.5 meters sea, the
saba was doing good, the L52 going slower was hobby horsing like crazy. The new L42 is really nice with those wide open sugar scoop, so cool and so easy to jump in from the
dinghy ! but it is a pig in light
wind. I know I raced it (friend of mine) last month upwind, I was doing 5+ kn while the L42 was barely moving, white
sails. The old L57(0) is a beast but I would miss the flybridge. Well, I am stuck. Contemplating the L500, but missing all the cool features of the new generation. The L500 with the new wide open
cockpit and easy
dinghy access would be so cool ! New models ? what were they thinking ?!
