Have 6 small blisters behind a seat cushion that was wet for 4 months, my fault.
Otherwise a great boat.
It has a hard top gelcoat in white which hardly comes off at all when polishing.

A 440 i looked at in the USA was fairly heavy in the stern, when i inspected it on the slip there were some blisters in the gel-coat around the sugar-scoops it was normal gelcoat blistering.
All up i checked out 6 Lagoons on various slips and haven't seen any thing untoward.

Cheers Frank

Friends had an old Lagoon 47' for 20+ years - they skippered it when it was in the Moorings & then bought it when it came out of charter. No blister problems ... until they hauled this year, & suddenly the bottom was covered in blisters. Don't know what (if anything) they'd done as blister prevention before. Of course, this means nothing about how current Lagoons will last...

We wre in the process of purchasing a 2008 Lagoon 420 and, contrary to my earlier understanding, I'm told that instead of being solid glass the hulls are cored below the waterline. Can anyone confirm? Also, any reports of blisters with these boats?

If you look in the bilges you'll be able to see where the coring stops. The coring does go below the waterline but usually stops 18" to 24" before if gets to the keel and they stop the core around and through hull fittings. Where you run into water problems in the core is when a through hull fitting is installed after the boat leaves the factory and they don't do it properly.
From my experience, blistering in very rare on Lagoons.
