Re: Lagoon 400 delamination
This is a photo of the same area from somewhat different angle.
I have sent the photos to my agent, no answer for the time being...

Strange picture, ? a truck wheel, and some white and gray.
Do you have a better picture ? and where in the bow is this ?

Try 'Travel Lift' wheel and you'll see things clearer...

Lagoons have mini keels. How can that be the bow of a Lagoon, it's just about sitting on the ground.

Re: Lagoon delamination or osmosis does anyone had experience?
For the unbelievers - here is the third and last photo I have.
In the other two you can see the wheel of the travel lift and some scaffolding standind behind our boat (the perspective of close pictures makes things seem strange).
The boat is sitting on wooden blocks beneath the GRP "keels", very low to the ground (the draught of the boat is only 1.21 m!)
The grey colour is leftovers of old antifouling being pressure-washed off.

Re: Lagoon delamination or osmosis does anyone had experience?
I did not ask Lagoon for warranty fix. The area was fixed without charge by the boatyard as part of the jobs they did on the boat during the liftout.
I have notified my agent. No real response as of now...

Re: Lagoon delamination or osmosis does anyone had experience?
I've heard of it in the French built Lagoons. Never heard of it in the older TPI/US built ones of the same design.

My aopologies. Now that I've had a look at the photo on my laptop & not my iPhone I can see what it supposed to show. As a small photo on the iPhone it can appear that the metal props are supporting the hull, thereby making it look like the hull is very close to the ground. That is obviously not the case when viewed large .... the metal props are actually on the other side of the hull & are not supporting under the hull.
Sorry.
Hope you get a satisfactory solution to this & I hope it is not going to be an ongoing problem with Lagoons.

Is there really a jagged crack in the surface with glass filaments exposed as it appears in the pictures? It's hard to tell from the picture angle but it sort of looks more like impact damage than delamination. Most delamination I have seen you can't really see a defined crack just a slight rise in the surface fairness. A delam area will sometimes respond to pressure by flexing inward like an oil can. An osmotic blister will generally not respond to pressure as it usually has an in-compressible fluid behind it. If you puncture the surface of a blister with a sharp awl the fluid will leak out. You can tell how thin the surface of the blister is by noticing how deep you have to go to let the fluid spurt out. Be careful though as the fluid can be under tremendous pressure.
I guess you need to know if it is osmostic blistering or delamination. The first is common in all boats not just Lagoon. The second is generally uncommon. Delamination can be repaired by the same method as impact damage.
