Re: Lagoon 450F - Refit for a Cruising Boat

We'd trade across to a cat or a 66ft Oyster in a second if we wouldn't take such a hit on the sale of our boat. Nice job, look perfect.

A Lagoon 450 just dropped anchor next to me as I write, watching the motion on their boat is making me seasick, I guess we're all used to different things.

We hope to see you next season.

Wow, just beautiful! Thanks for sharing in such great detail.

We're about a year or so behind you, with a used owners 450 on the very short list. So watching your refit with great interest.

Also eager to hear any info you can share on costs. How are yard and refit costs in Turkey compared to what you'd expect in other areas?

Re: Lagoon 450F - Refit for a Cruising Boat

Awesome job. I am the proud owner of a Lagoon450 and have been cruising fo the past two years. My boat is the owner version like yours. I have made modifications " on the fly" whilst cruising and wish I would have had a chance to do it up front.
I would highly recommend hardtop with full enclosure on the flybridge. Also, I found the original dinghy davits to low and impractical. I designed my own boatlift/swimming platform using the existing davit footprint. Had it built in New Zealand and works great.
I would be happy to share details with you. Presently cruising in Fiji heading for Vanuatu.

Re: Lagoon 450F - Refit for a Cruising Boat

Great job Mark and thanks for sharing. I have the same 450 and am cruising in the South Pacific. Left from Florida two years ago.
I have made upgrades " on the fly" and would be happy to share them with you.
From your descriptions I VP can't tell if you have the hard top over the flybridge. If not, I would highly recommend it. On long crossings it is well worth it and provides good access to the boom. Also, I have replaced the dinghy David's with a boatlift/ swim platform using the existing davits footprint you might be interested in. As for the dinghy itself, I replaced the Highfield 350 with a 350 fiberglass tender made in NZ by OCtenders. Super light and will outrun any inflatable with like horsepower. Very stable and loads of room.
For any details please feel free to contact me direct on "gert@aiglstorfer.com"
Boat name " Wind of Change" .
Enjoy your boat

Thanks

I'm seriously considering a hardtop. also considering a soft top, but same design, large across entire top etc etc. That looks to be a winter project now, as we want to get out cruising !.

Will PM you my email for details.

Regards

Mark
