All electricals and wiring had to be replaced as they got crushed rocking on the rocks, or shorted out as it sunk,

All the pumps are OK as they were the submersible types,

The hard part with this repair was that its a double hull, The inside had to come out before the out side could be repaired and then the inner hulls had to be repaired and reinstalled,

As for the rest of the boat, It was undamaged,

They actually look worse than what they are,

Scratched paint looks terrible at any time, But is there damage under the scratched paint, Only close inspection can determine that,

When I was younger, I glassed over the hulls of two wooden speed boats, They came up magic,

I had toyed with the idea of repairing mine, Myself, But I live too far away from the boat to be feasible,

Getting the sand out was another big problem, It was every where,

Now in all fairness.

How long has it been since youíve had a boat vs a repair project?

In all fairness.. he sailed his current one, a Gemini Cat, across the Pacific from the States.. had some bad luck which damaged the boat.. he fixed the two damaged hulls and it is currently afloat again..
What's that got to do with the price of eggs..???

Ive had boats all my life, Motor boats, I also repaired ships for a living,
Repairs to boats has been a life long thing, I just do it,
Holes in speed boats Etc, Is quite common,
This one dragged out because I got a shonky repairer to do the work,
My repairs this time about 18 months, But it also had a few hold ups,

I sailed it from Fiji to Bundaberg and then down the Tasman,
I did 3000 Nmiles in it,
Violent storm wrecked the boat at anchor,
The hulls have been fully repaired,

PO sailed it from the States to Hawai, Tonga, Fiji, Nuemea, Bundaberg, Vanuatu,
So its been around,

Is he afloat?

The point was that his project has been going on for at least two years that I can remember.

First repair guy did schite work, 2nd guy has been going for 18 months.

This is simply to illustrate to the OP how long something like this can drag along.

Iíve never said itís not repairable.....just that itís not a task for the faint of heart or the poor.

So howís them eggs?

First, anyone with the slightest bit of interest and a phone or internet could have located the boat based on info from the OP.

Second, after the hurricanes last season there are lots and lots of boats like this on the market. One might say they're a dime a dozen. If someone picked up this one there's plenty more available.

Finally, as someone else noted, once you put something out like this on a public forum it's public knowledge.

I can see nothing unethical or in the least way harmful in the additional information posted.

From looking at the pictures, that boat does not look like it has very much water damages at all. If I had $100,000 to invest and 6 months of time available I would most likely buy this boat. But I would be doing most of the work.

Right. I feel for Mr. B and how tough itís been. Looking back at his original thread his boat went on the rocks in 2011. So sure, part of delay is that original repairs were not good. And yes, finally got right person to do repairs in last 18 months. But... a much smaller, less complex, non cored cat which last sailed nearly 7 years ago. That should tell OP something.
