Lagoon 440 Owners

As a proud new owner of a 2009 440 (on order), I'd like to invite all other 440 owners to use this thread as an Owner Support Forum for all things L440.
Considering the 350+ hulls to date; it would be nice if Lagoon could establish a formal 440 Forum but I guess this thread can suffice for now if we get enough participation.
I will start;

I'm looking at dinghies, a RIB (155#) with an additional 100# outboard OR go with an inflatable floor (75#) with a 55# outboard.
The question is;
I'm trying to be weight efficient in my accessaries in order to keep performance up; how much do think 250# hanging aft will affect the boat vs a lighter 125# dinghy?

We just bought a L440

We just closed the deal on a 2009 Lagoon 440 in Westbrook, Conneticut. She will winter there at Sound Yachting til we take off hopefully in May or June. We are liquidating our lives here in California and taking our two cats and Senegal parrot with us. We have the owner's version and will eventually take on paid charter guests. My husband will take his captains licensure test this Friday in Fort Lauderdale. We will cruise the New England area for a few months before taking off to Fort Lauderdale where we will outfit/provision: water maker, scuba compressor, wind and solar generators, washer/dryer, two extra freezers (a custom larger one in one of the forepeak bunk areas and another one ??) After all of this, we will take off for the Carribean............

In the process of selecting a us/euro Lagoon 440 here too. Where are you based...if Melbourne or Sydney would love to buy you a beer/coffee and listen to your experiences in buying.
Also, there is a Lagoon owners group at Yahoo which has excellent information. Search for Lagoon Owners group yahoo in a search engine and you will find it.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Re: Lagoon 440 Owners

Hi all. Delighted to advise we have just purchased a L440 currently located Sibenik in Croatia. Late 2006 build and fitted with just about every possible cruising extra, plus some! As a keen diver, I'm chuffed to note it also has a near new Bauer dive compressor. The lovely former German owner of "Symphony" has ordered a L520 due for delivery Q3 next year, so we get some extra marina berth time included. Once it's German registration cancellation is completed, we plan to go through the process of registering as Aussie ship "Finally my Darling". Moving over there mid Feb 2013 to start what we hope to be +2 years of cruising the Med before considering a slow trip home to Aus.

"Gratulere så mye", is what we say up here in the north. Sail safe, and there is also a Yahoo Lagoon club where you will find a lot of 440 owners.
