Lagoon 420 Polars

I've done a web search and a search of this site and can't find polars for the Lagoon 420 anywhere. Does anyone know if they exist, and if so, where I can find them?

Thanks!

No, I haven't. I'm assuming they don't exist since no one has responded. Anybody out there no where we can find the polars for a 420?

Thanks!

It is company's secret
I have been trying for a long time to get polars for our boat (L400). Even got sort of promise from Lagoon that never materialised.

there is something similar for L 400. But it is considerably underestimating boat abilities. Say in 15 true at 50 true boat does 6-7kn, polar says 5.

in 10 kn reaching at 90 deg, boat does over 6kn. Polar says 4.2. HUH!

here ya go, but is underestimating a bit unless it is plotting apparent wind.

That boat cannot possibly be that slow. 3 knots of boat speed in 10 knots of wind at 50 degrees true? Cannot possibly be so. I've been sailing my whole life and I don't think I ever sailed a boat that slow. Target speed on my boat is 2/3 of true wind speed on that point of sail and in that much wind, and I've hardly seen a boat which couldn't do at least 1/2. That's less than 1/3.

it is difference in flat water or not. Med sailor and pacific sailor will have different benchmarks as ocean swell dumping sails more.

In good conditions, mine can do around 5 kn at 50 in 10 kn wind. That is good enough to keep up with 40 to 50 ft monos in same conditions. Wind pips up knot or 2 , we got ahead, wind slowed below we losing a bit...

Worst case speeds in lumpy water is the only way I can imagine to justify those polars. But that's not the way polars are done, by convention. By convention, they are ideal speeds achieved in perfect conditions, and you discount them for sea state or anything else. There's hardly any point to a polar which accounts for some unknown sea state. Because any sea state could always be worse. There are plenty of real life conditions where you can't sail at all at 50 true.

Thanks. I do have this file but do not consider it to be the real polar table of L400.
As you wrote, the figures do not match reality.
Mr. Alex Dauberville, who is in charge of customer relation in Lagoon, promised to take care of a better table but never sent out a better version.
