Question Hybrid Electric Motors for Circumnavigation/Bluewater Cruising?

I've been on the hunt for a Lagoon 410 or 380 for circumnavigation/bluewater cruising and I have become intrigued with a L410 with twin Solomon Technologies electric motors & a Northern Lights 20KVW generator.

I like the idea in theory, especially if I were to build it out with a good solar and wind system, but is anyone actually bluewater cruising with hybrid electric motors? Am I just asking for trouble?

Would especially love to hear feedback from anyone out there that has or is using hybrid electric motors.

Don't know about the 410, but you may find this article about a 420 relevant:

Bye Bye Hybrid

Search the forum for hybrid threads. There is a current one that is quite long and lays out the issues.

If you are willing to live with substantially reduced capabilities, then yes, they are viable today. If you expect the same performance with better efficiency, you will be sorely disappointed.
