If you're shipping
the vessel the transport company will ship the mast
as well with the boat.
The mast will be longer than the boat. The move will be a long and / wide load so will need permitting through most states.
We employed a rigger to unstep our mast. He wrapped it in foam and shrink wrap and worked with the crane rigger to load and unload the mast.
My wife and I focussed on clearing the decks and stowing everything below.
There is way too much work to do it all yourself. We have a 46' Liberty 458 fully kitted out for long term cruising
. We had the truck moving in less than three days.
