Convert Freezer to a Fridge

My freezer doesn't stop dripping condensation despite adding more insulation, a second fridge would be better. Has anyone tried converting their freezer to a fridge or know if it's possible? Is there more to it than just swapping the thermostat?

Re: Convert Freezer to a Fridge

It could be a simple as swapping a thermostat, if it’s a thin evaporator plate, or maybe just turning the one you have all the way up or down depending on how you look at it.
If it’s a hold over plate, then likely changing out the mix of the eutectic fluid should be done.
Need more info.

Its the Fridgomare standard lagoon freezer. Cant adjust it up (warmer) enough not to freeze. Found this site www.freezer2fridge.com which looks possible.

Convert Freezer to a Fridge

I’m not familiar with that one at all, however I’d bet it’s not a cold plate as I don’t think those are common in new builds as OEM.
If it’s not, then all you should need is another thermostat.
I just converted my spill over to a thermostat / fan controlled fridge temp.
I’m exceedingly happy with this as a thermostat, it’s extremely adjustable, and very, very accurate. I checked it against my Fluke and it’s within about .1f or so of actual.
It would also work as both a fridge or freezer so you wouldn’t lose anything
