450: Chafe on the code 0 haylard

I have a 450S #6. I have went through 2 haylard lines from chafing, it comes from the structural bracing inside the mask where the Genoa forestay and the shrouds attach. I was up on the mask looking down into the mask through a small opening and I can see the bracing down inside the mask. There are 2 sheeves avilable on the front of the mask. I have tried both but end up with the same results. I am going to obtain a endoscope and get a picture or a better look.
I am thinking that the 450S would have a differtent Mask then the F.
Was wondering if any other 450S owners have had this issue.
it is very frustrating that Lagoon provides no customer service when it comes to problems they have had with new designs or changes to those designs when a problem has been detected and changed.
My manual states that that haylard is a 12mm but the boat arrived new with a 10mm. I tried a 12mm and it Chafed quickly the 10 does much better.

Hi Mike, haven't used the halyard much as I only rigged it 4 months ago (12mm). So far no issues that I have observed. (#7)

I also had the chafe issues and had the halyard coated with a protective sheath for maybe the first 6m. Seems ok but I can still see a little wear.

thanks gentlemen, I ordered some anti chafe coating and a camera to take a look down inside the mask... see if I can get a better look..

A coating (Maxijacket?) is good, but New England Ropes Spectra Sleeve is better.

Hi Krabimike,
Could you tell me how far frome the shackle the chafe appears?
Are in the prosess of ordering the gennaker now and it would be a good idea to protect the halyard right away.

As a long term fix, you might have to add another exit plate to the mast. If the halyard exits further up the mast, it might pull it over enough to avoid the rubbing point.
