Buying a Lagoon 440 How to finish

Hi everyone,

This is our first Lagoon 440 Catamaran we have purchased. Need a little help. We are not using a broker with either party. But need a few steps and recommendations of where to next.

About the boat:
US Flagged, Taxes paid
Agreed price to price
Just finished survey, haul out, and seatrail
They have clear title
Completing our loan agreement

Now
Marinie company to handle paperwork?
Do I need a Marine Lawyer?

Any advice will be great. looking to finish this up before December 1

When I bought a boat in the USA I used a UK DOT Form for the process..
As you are in the States I suggest you visit this site for your forms..
https://www.legalcontracts.com/contracts/bill-of-sale/
After printing off a couple of copies all you need to do then is go to either yours or the sellers bank and get the documents witnessed and then signed and stamped by the Bank Manager..
No need for lawyers etc;.. and acceptable to US Customs.

No lawyers needed.

Your buyer broker does the sales paperwork.

You can do coast guard documentation your self. It's easy peasy. All forms are online.

State registration is just like registering a car.

Assuming it's a documented vessel I would have them sign over the documentation, CG bill of sale and also a standard sales agreement that states sales price. This is for possible sales tax you may owe on the boat. As have been said, save the money and do your own documentation transfer.
