440 Washing Machine Removal

Does any one have experience at removing the washing machine from a 440. After removing every panel screw in site, the front will not come off and the wooden separator between the machine and the shelves does not move. Believe it or not the machine is bigger than the access door??

No, but if you work it out could you post details as my Mrs wants ours out and replaced with a better machine.

The one we have will only spin one time in five which is a bore and I think that there are now better options out there.

Re: 440 Washing Machine Removal

Sorry I took so long in replying:

Well I managed to get the machine out, basically you need to remove all the shelves, the one above the machine and the ones on the left hand side. You will then need to remove the screws that hold the central divider in place. You need to push the central divider to the left, you now have access to the machine.

Yu will need to remove the four screws underneath the machine that hold it in place.

Next step is to disconnect the water hoses at the back and the power cable, the plug on the power cable would not pull through the hole back up to the machine, so I just cut it off and fitted a new one when I reinstalled the machine.

You can now lift the machine out, no mean feat as it is quite heavy.

You will also have to remove the door to get it through into the cabin and up the stairs into the saloon, do not try and do it without removing the door or you will scratch the door, just not enough room.

And thats it.

Hi AoR

Was there a possibility of taking the washing machine out via the locker access? What machine did you replace it with?
