Oh we so loved the
Bahamas.. If I wasn't full time cruising, then I "get it".. If you wanted a
boat and still worked then it makes sense.
If your plans are to full time
cruise in the
Carribean then no reason to move it up to the
USA. As nice as the
Bahamas are, the Thorny path isn't really worth it. Martininique is a pretty fantastic location for both boat
work and excellent cruising. Its a false economy to move a boat up from Martinique to "get it ready for cruising". Sure stuff is a little more
money, but NOT anywhere near as much as I was lead to beleive. In fact I routinly find items (at the Chandlery) I paid more
money for in
Florida.
