2003 Lagoon 410 for $128K!

How much would new (rebuild) motors and sails and rigging come to?

2003 Lagoon 410 Sail Boat For Sale - www.yachtworld.com

Still seems like a great deal for someone with the right skills.

Now look at the current photos of that boat here:

It needs a lot more than motors, sails and rigging...

$50,000 to $60,000 just for those items. That boat is trashed though. Double it.

That boats been for sale for atleast a year. I wondered why a 5 year old boat needed new engines in 2008, neglect?. Kinda made me suspicious then. Now they say it needs new engines again. It was sold, then back on the market atleast once during that time. Anyone seen it or know its history?

Doesn't look that bad to me. Definitely worth some investigation if one is looking for that type boat. The engines can probably be rebuilt.

I agree with Sand Crab. You will have $100k into rebuilding this boat, which places the total cost into the same amount as a reasonably cared for L410. Maybe offer $75k and see if they bite, if you are looking for a project.

If you could get it for around $100,000 I would think it would be worth it. It is in the perfect location, Budget marine is there and they have new Yanmars available with the sail drive for under 10k. Sail makers and riggers there are also great and well priced. Beautiful place to hang out while your boat is rebuilt.

If your bringing it to the US you will need to rewire the 220V service to 110V for frig and water heater and outlets.

Re: 2003 Lagoon 41 for $128K!

This Cat come from SWICHT FR Martinique charter company operating between grenadines and martinique , the company experience serious financial troubles in the last 4 years, this is not the first one from this company for sale in this price range, the fleet operate without to much maintenance and this boats take a lot of abuse from charter partys from the previous years, engines , rigging, sails, and lots of cosmetics projects to me is worth for 128k , now , this boat have a recent survey, if nothing is wrong with keels, ruders, structure, hull, bulkheads, cracks or any dark cloud related to the integrity of the vessel , dam is a good deal....

If the hull and spars pass muster it looks a good deal as a liveabord fixer upper...
as has been stated.. with a bit of knowledge and the right contacts there's great sailmakers and engineers, riggers out there and its not as expensive as one might think...
Ahhhh... the location...
If you can creep her up to St Martin you'll have it cracked...

Oh.. and as a past buyer out there I can recommend Doyle's sails....

Look at the pics in the recent photos. The pics show it's thrashed. It needs new cabinets, possibly countertops, cushions in. and ext. paint, redo on the electronics just to fix the displays and do I see condensation behind the one of the display bezels, and do I see water damage in Pic 20. FWIW this boat is not ready for blue water. Some of the items it may need are radar, chartplotter, watermaker, dinghy and motor, solar and on and on. Please don't start a debate on blue water. Throw in all the rest like bimini, paint, all rigging, batteries and you would be lucky to only spend $100K. With this much deferred maintenance what about all the stuff you can't see like bottom paint, osmosis, sail drives, etc. I would definately offer lower. How many hours on those engines anyway.
I wonder if it is more than 2 years between the sets of pictures.

I'm no expert but boat looks as though it has taken on some water, could be the reason for trashed engines.

I have those thoughts ... you know the ones - "I'll low ball, get a great deal, fix'er up, save some $$".

Then I look at my partner and remember "happy wife, happy life". Nothing ruins the dream faster than constantly doing boat work. Will have enough of that to do on a well maintained boat!
